Peter J. Diemand ’57 passed away on January 2. Peter came to Dartmouth from Fairfield (Connecticut) Prep School. He majored in economics, served as house manager of Theta Delta Chi, played golf (freshman captain), was in Dragon and the Newman Club. After graduation he earned an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. He completed Navy officer candidate school and served three years on a destroyer, calling at ports worldwide. Peter began work marketing consumer products at Colgate Palmolive Co. and spent 13 years in overseas assignments in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and London. Returning to the United States, he continued in the marketing and management of consumer products, joined American Cyanamid Co., and finished his career at the Mennen Co. His family lived in Saddle River, New Jersey, and enjoyed a second home in Vero Beach, Florida. Peter’s favorite recreation was golf, which he played wherever he lived. He served Dartmouth as an Alumni Fund volunteer. Peter is survived by Roberta, his wife of 42 years; son Christian; and daughter Lisa.
