Lloyd Widom ’81 died October 22, 2025, at his home in Chappaqua, New York, surrounded by family after a 15-month battle with cancer. He majored in government and Russian and participated in the foreign study program in Leningrad in the Soviet Union during the summer of 1979, rooming with Peter Bogin ’81, Greg Hale ’81, Mark Matuschak ’81, and Pete Rosenberg ’80. He was a member of Alpha Delta, played in the Marching Band, and was active with WDCR/WFRD radio. Lloyd loved Dartmouth and served as an admissions volunteer for more than 15 years and as an alumni fund volunteer for more than 25 years. He earned an M.B.A. from Baruch College and was recognized as a chartered financial analyst. He worked as an equity analyst at S&P Global, Prudential Securities, Credit Suisse, and Needham and Co., rising to managing director and supervisory analyst. He was ranked as an “Institutional Investor All Star.” At Sidoti & Co. he managed teams of analysts covering small- and micro-cap companies. He was also active with the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of New York, serving as cabinet chair, and funding startup efforts by new and existing charitable organizations. He married Heidi Ganzfried (Brandeis ’84), who survives him with sons Ross (and wife Morgan) and Marshall. Friends noted Lloyd’s kindness, humility, humor, and quick wit, characterizing him as a “true renaissance man,” equally comfortable discussing classical music, jazz, Major League Baseball, and Monday Night Football.
