A. Gordon Rippey III ’57

A. Gordon Rippey III ’57 died on November 21, 2025. Gordon came to Dartmouth from The Hotchkiss School (Salisbury, Connecticut). He majored in English, belonged to Sigma Chi (social chairman), was in the Dartmouth Outing Club and the mountaineering club. After graduation he returned to his hometown, Denver, where he joined the Air National Guard and began work in sales for the Ideal Cement Co. In 1959 Ideal transferred him to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He worked for them for 10 years before returning to Denver to join Mobile Premix Concrete, becoming marketing executive vice president. Gordon was an outdoorsman. He and his family enjoyed getting away to his mountain cabin. His hobbies were tennis, skiing, and fishing. He served the College in his local club as district enrollment chair (1964-69). He was predeceased by Sally, his wife of 60 years, and is survived by sons Andrew, Glenn, and Gregg ’87.
