Edwin J. Stedem Jr ’58 passed away on November 8, 2025. Ned was born in Columbus, Ohio, and at Dartmouth started in premed and was a member of Phi Delta Theta and the swim team. He dropped out of Dartmouth, then majored in history at Ohio State, and earned a J.D. from Michigan and an M.B.A. at Columbia. Ned spent his 33-year career with Ford Motor Co., working in finance, manufacturing, sales, and marketing before retiring in Naples, Florida. He had a passion for poetry, literature, art, photography, history, and travel. He enjoyed building beautiful pieces of wood furniture. He also served for more than 30 years on nonprofit boards, primarily in healthcare and education. When once asked to give a toast, Ned said, “The only love we get to keep is the love we give away.” He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, two sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren.
