Edward Luck ’70

Edward Luck ’70 died on February 16. He was a foreign policy expert who devoted his life to making the world safer for the most vulnerable. As a special advisor to the UN secretary general on the responsibility to protect, he championed the UN’s strategy to prevent mass atrocity crimes. As a professor at the Columbia University School for International and Public Affairs he mentored students. His publications included works on multilateralism, the U.N. Security Council, and human protection. At Dartmouth he was active in running, sailing, and drumming. He is survived by his wife, Dana, daughter Jessica, and two grandchildren.
