November-December 2026

Donald B. Da Parma ’63 passed away surrounded by his family on September 30, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born in New York City and moved to North Carolina as a child. He attended Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, where he sang in the glee club. At Dartmouth Don sang in the Glee Club and majored in government and French. He participated in the foreign studies program and spent one year in France. He was a brother (and secretary) of Delta Upsilon and spent one summer on a cattle ranch in Wyoming. Don pivoted away from French after Dartmouth and was accepted into Columbia Law School but deferred to join the Navy, where he attended officer candidate school and served as a lieutenant, j.g., aboard the USS Damato and then as captain of a Swift Boat out of Qui Nhon, Vietnam. He received his J.D. from Columbia in 1970 and joined the Wall Street law firm of Breed Abbot & Morgan, where he carved out a successful career as an antitrust litigator. Don branched out on his own in 1988 and predominantly handled international legal work for Conagra. He kept a home base in upstate New York and spent much time traveling the world for his job. After retirement Don and his wife returned to New York City to an apartment surrounded by furniture that he built. He is survived by his wife, Francesca, former wife Patricia, and two children.
