David C. Rogers ’63 , Tu’64, passed away peacefully at his home in Machipongo, Virginia, on July 17. He was born in Rhode Island; raised in Milford, Connecticut; and attended the Lenox School, where he participated in glee club, lacrosse, football, and debate. David was an economics major at Dartmouth, a brother of Delta Upsilon, a member of the Glee Club, and worked for Winter Carnival. He took advantage of the Tuck 3-2 program and received his M.B.A. in 1964. He and Linda, his wife of 61 years, were married in 1965. David had an active business career centering on accounting and finance beginning with Kennecott Copper, followed by Ford Motor in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1969 he joined J.I. Case in Racine, Wisconsin, and became director of finance, Europe, based in Paris with a further stop in Amsterdam. He then joined International Mill Service as vice president of finance, becoming president in 1987. In 1993 David purchased the Heclyn Precision Gear Co. in Philadelphia, retiring in 2020. While in Philadelphia, he was a trustee of the Philadelphia Ballet and a member of the Union League. In 2007 he lost a leg due to a ruptured aneurysm but approached recovery with determination. Retirement brought David to Virginia’s Eastern Shore, where he enjoyed the Chesapeake Bay and joined the Hungers Episcopal Church. He is survived by Linda, two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
