Cyril Charles Gsell ’52 , a resident of Rye, New York, passed away on March 8 at White Plains (New York) Hospital. Cyril was born on January 3, 1930, in New York City and graduated from Dartmouth with an economics degree. He was a member of Zeta Psi. After college Cyril served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a lieutenant, j.g. His professional career began in 1954 at R. Gsell & Co., a manufacturer and importer of watches, where he served as an executive from 1954 until 1986. His career continued with tenures at Elgin National Industries and Bulova Watch Co., and he retired in 2002. He was a member of notable clubs, including the Westchester Country Club, the Dartmouth Club of New York, the New York Athletic Club, and the Twenty-Four Karat Club of New York City. An avid skier, Cyril enjoyed the slopes of the United States and Switzerland. His travels took him across Europe, Hong Kong, and the United States, enriching his life with experiences and friendships. Cyril is survived by his wife, Bernice “Bonni,” to whom he was married in 1994; daughter Wendy; stepson Kurt; stepdaughter Karen and her husband, Andy; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Heather, and their son C. Charles Jr.
