Issue

May-June 2026

Craig Anthony Waters ’68 passed away on January 17 in Prescott Valley, Arizona, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Craig grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he attended St. John’s Prep. At Dartmouth he was a history major and a member of Zeta Psi, where he was house manager and affectionately known as “Soapy.” Craig had a distinguished career as a finance executive, spending 10 years with Xerox followed by another decade with Intel Corp. His work took him across from New York City to Orange County, California, and Phoenix, Arizona. Known for his sharp mind and unshakeable principles, Craig approached every role with professionalism and an uncompromising sense of ethics. His career enabled him to build lifelong friendships and meet his future wife, Susan. Craig retired in 2008; in 2016 he and Susan made Prescott Valley their retirement home. There, they embraced a love for travel, journeying in their RV and enjoying cruises to tropical destinations and Europe. Craig was opinionated, tenacious, and committed to doing things the right way. He is remembered for a readiness to share his views. He was also a music lover and curator of a meticulously organized collection that served as a soundtrack to his home life. Craig is survived by Susan; son Jason; stepdaughter Christy; and grandchildren Riley, Quinn, and Sky.
