Christopher C. Badger ’81 died on November 9, 2025, while bicycling near his home in Portola Valley, California. Chris grew up in Carlisle, Massachusetts, graduating from Middlesex School. At Dartmouth he joined Psi Upsilon and was president of the rowing club. He rowed with the varsity crew, including at the 1980 Royal Regatta in Henley, England. Classmates recall his keen intelligence, kindness, and quiet grace. An engineering sciences major at Dartmouth, Chris earned an M.S. in engineering management from Stanford in 1983 and then built a Silicon Valley tech career. His most recent position was as Kyriba’s head of technology partnerships, where he managed strategic relationships and technology integrations, providing organizations with financial tools to optimize performance. Chris previously worked at Anaplan, ClearSlide, and Hearsay Social. He served as a Dartmouth Alumni Fund volunteer for many years, was a regional alumni club officer, and conducted alumni interviews. He enjoyed bicycling, skiing, sailing, camping, mountain climbing, and other outdoor pursuits, both close to home and farther afield. Chris was committed to the stewardship and conservation of lands he loved, especially in New Mexico, Idaho, and California. He is survived by his mother, Betsy; his wife of 36 years, Dene; sons Carson, Jackson, and Macklan; cousin David ’83; and uncles David ’58 and Spencer, Med’56. Memorial donations may be made in his name to California Trout (CalTrout).
