Charles K. Wessendorf ’63

Charles K. Wessendorf ’63, Tu’64, passed away on May 4. He was from Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and attended Longmeadow High School and Menlo-Atherton High School in California. At Dartmouth Chuck majored in economics and and was a member of U.S. Army ROTC and the Intramural Athletics Committee and a brother of Delta Kappa Epsilon. He received a M.B.A. at Tuck in 1964, utilizing the program that allowed him to attend Tuck during his senior year. Because the Army delayed his joining for six months, Chuck worked for Philco-Ford before being called to signal officer school in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He then moved as a first lieutenant to Fort Lee, Virginia, where he met his future wife, Kathy. She predeceased him in 2006. After leaving the Army, Chuck rejoined Philco-Ford for five years before moving to Xerox in 1972, eventually becoming controller for Middle East and Africa in 1980. He then moved as a vice president of investor relations for Imagestics International and United Rentals before becoming president of Ipreo Inc. While working, Chuck was a member of various high-level industry organizations relating to investor relations and corporate communications. In his spare time, he volunteered for several Wilton, Connecticut, political committees, including serving as a delegate to the Republican State Convention. He also served on the advisory board of the University of Connecticut School of Business Administration. Chuck attended most Dartmouth football games, was a class officer, and served as an Alumni Fund volunteer. He is survived by his partner, Mary Ellen, two daughters, and two grandchildren.
