Burton Lee Albert ’63

Burton Lee Albert ’63 died June 19, 2013, at home in Roanoke, Virginia. Burt was born in Sioux City, Iowa, a place he was very fond of and spoke of often. At Dartmouth Burt was a member of the Glee Club, Dartmouth College Athletic Council, Interfraternity Council and Tau Epsilon Phi. He graduated from Duke Law School in 1966 and served in the Army. Upon his discharge Burt joined Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. in Richmond, Virginia, moved to the National Labor Relations Board in Los Angeles and in 1969 returned to private practice at Kielkopf and Albert in Roanoke, where he stayed for 43 years. Burt served as class of ’63 newsletter editor from 1973 to 1977 and was a class agent in 2013. In 1991 he appeared on Jeopardy. Burt loved to play golf. He is survived by his wife, Melinda, son E. Jason, brothers Michael and Neil and grandson Simon.
