J. Bradley Lund ’60


J. Bradley Lund ’60 passed away October 12, 2012, as a result of esophageal cancer. His is survived by his wife, Mary Anne “Maizie,” children Anne, Amy and Tim and 10 grandchildren. Brad was buried in Towson, Maryland, near his home following a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Pius X Church. In his later years Brad had been involved in work for the federal government, but earlier in his life he taught at Calvert Hall College High School. Brad grew up in the Baltimore area and graduated from Calvert Hall in 1956 before matriculating at Dartmouth. While at Dartmouth he majored in English, played lacrosse and rugby and was a member of the Newman Club. Brad was a member of Alpha Delta Phi, where he was known as a kind, sensitive and fun-loving brother. Brad’s joy and meaning in life derived from his faith, family and Irish heritage. He sang for many years in a Gaelic singing group. His children and grandchildren all knew they were loved and respected and that his pride in them was great. Brad became very involved in scouting and was scoutmaster of son Tim’s troop. Tim still treasures the memories of the 1979 trip he and his father took to the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. For Maizie, a 50th wedding anniversary celebration last June planned by the children and grandchildren remains a treasured memory.
