Grant McCord

Issue

November-December 2025

Grant McCord —a vibrant and passionate classmate known for his smile, quick wit, and warm and welcoming nature—died June 9. Grant majored in earth sciences with a minor in government and completed “The Stretch,” where he spent a term trekking through the Rocky Mountains. He was a member of the Dog Day Players, a brother of Alpha Chi Alpha, and a founding member of the student band Fake Nudes. After Dartmouth Grant lived in Brooklyn, New York, where he immersed himself in the comedy scene; worked in canvassing, client services, and marketing strategy; continued to make music with friends; and pursued comedy, writing, and performance. Grant shared his pure joy and love of music with classmates throughout his Dartmouth experiences, most recently at his five-year reunion, where Fake Nudes reunited for a performance that was a highlight of the weekend. Grant’s presence made Hanover better, and his memory reminds classmates to smile. He is survived by his parents, Leigh and Rob, and brother Jackson, who will never forget his enthusiasm, zest for life, and how he made them laugh.
