Robert F. Bertocchi died on July 11, five days before his 81st birthday, at the Bane Harbor House in Hingham, Massachusetts, following a lengthy illness. Raised in Revere, Massachusetts, Bob was a graduate of Revere High School. At Dartmouth he graduated with high honors and distinction in economics. Bob became a certified public accountant and practiced in Wakefield, Massachusetts, for many years. The last 25 years of his life he worked as a senior accountant at Mahoney’s Garden Center, a family-run home and garden center with seven retail locations around Boston. Bob was a part of the close-knit Mahoney family, working until his health declined at the age of 80. Bob was a man of great Catholic faith, a daily communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Revere, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council #179 in Revere. Bob was also a passionate sports fan and one of the first season ticketholders of the New England Patriots, starting in 1971. Bob enjoyed time with his family and especially get-togethers. He lived a humble life and was frugal, quiet, and pleasant. He is survived by many cousins, his extended family at Mahoney’s, and friends.
