Donald E. Bradley ’65
Donald E. Bradley ’65 died on January 15 in Pleasanton, California, after a brief illness. He came to Dartmouth from Van Nuys, California. A philosophy major, he was in Army ROTC, rush chairman of Phi Delta Alpha, and a member of Barbary Coast and Newman Club. He was serving as class president at the time of his death. He earned his law degree from University of California Law San Francisco and served in the U.S. Army as a captain in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. From 1972 to 1984 Don was an associate and then partner of Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw & Pittman LLP. He joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C. in Palo Alto, California, in 1984 and led the tax group for many years before becoming the firm’s first general counsel. Don was a member of the board of directors of UC Law San Francisco from 2007 until 2019, a gubernatorial appointment of which he was very proud. Don and his wife, Marianne, participated in many marathons and half-marathons with Team in Training, a fundraising arm for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He was an accomplished musician who enjoyed playing Chopin and Gershwin on the piano. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren at backyard barbeques and watching them participate in their sports and endeavors. Don is survived by Marianne; children Evan, Matthew, and Andrea and their spouses; and grandchildren Gavin, Laine, Raef, Kian, and George.
