Peter W. Crane ’58
Peter W. Crane ’58, a career pilot for the U.S. Navy and Northwest Airlines, died on March 28 in Arizona. At Dartmouth Pete majored in geography and was active in Sigma Chi, Dartmouth Outing Club, and Navy ROTC. He was a naval aviator for nine years, flying off the USS Midway and the USS Coral Sea, and was a test pilot on the F4 Phantom at McDonnell Douglas. Later he was a pilot for Northwest for 30 years until retiring. He enjoyed tennis, racquetball, golf, and traveling. Pete is survived by Shirley, his wife of 66 years; a daughter and a son; and brothers Jay ’60 and Dick ’63.
