John L. Kornet ’67

John L. Kornet ’67 passed away on January 8, 2023, in Cohasset, Massachusetts, following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. John came to the College from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; majored in music, and was a brother of Alpha Theta. John sang with the Glee Club and the Injunaires throughout his time at Dartmouth. Following graduation he earned his M.B.A. from the Tuck School in 1969. John spent seven years with Bethlehem Steel Corp., then the balance of his career in investment management as a financial consultant. In his service to the class of 1967, John served as president, agent and head agent several times, among other key roles. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane (“Pokey”); son John and his wife, Rebecca; daughter Allison and her husband, Juan; daughter Abigail; sister Linda and her husband, Frank; grandchildren Jack, Rachel, Sam, Sydney, Josie, and Antonio; and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. Daughter Diana ’93 predeceased him in a 2000 climbing accident on Mount Hood.
