Edward D. Waldron IV ’57

Edward D. Waldron IV ’57 passed away on May 10. Ed came to Dartmouth from Wellesley (Massachusetts) High School. He majored in history and was in Theta Delta Chi. Classmates will remember Ed’s wonderful singing voice in the Glee Club and Injunaires. He played basketball and baseball. He was in the Air Force ROTC and after graduation served for a total of two and a half years, most of the time in France and Denmark. Ed began a sales career for Bethlehem Steel at its Pennsylvania headquarters, then with field assignments in Boston and for many years in Cleveland. He joined the Hermit Club (performing arts) in Cleveland and had lead parts in Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and several other musicals. He flew his Piper Cub around the country and played golf all over the world, including every course on the island of Maui, Hawaii. Ed showed loyalty to Dartmouth as a class agent, 1964-69 and 1988-92; fraternity agent, 1993-97; leadership agent, 1994-95; and on the reunion giving committee, 1987. He was a regional club secretary, 1970-72, and class mini-reunion chairman, 2007-09. In retirement Ed moved to Naples, Florida, where he was in the real estate business and played golf. He is survived by his wife, Sue, son Edward V, daughter Jennifer, and their families.
