Louis Coburn Turner ’55
Louis Coburn Turner ’55 died at his home in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on December 29, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Lee; sons Stephen ’87 and Brian; and daughter Nancy. Brought up in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, Lou came to Dartmouth on a full scholarship from Westborough High School. He was captain of the football team and president of the Dartmouth Christian Union. He was also a member of Palaeopitus, Casque & Gauntlet, and Phi Gamma Delta. Lou majored in electrical engineering and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After earning an M.S. from Thayer School of Engineering in 1956, Lou taught for 30 years at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. In addition to teaching physics and astronomy, he coached tennis and football. In recognition of his lifetime of accomplishment and service, Lou received the Class of 1955 Award in 2005.
