Thomas Thorburn Flannery ’67

Thomas Thorburn Flannery ’67 of Pittsburgh died on April 9. He came to the College from Canterbury School, majored in English, was a brother of Chi Phi, and played football and rugby. Following his sophomore year, Tom left the College and returned in the fall of 1967, graduating with the class of 1969. After graduation he worked for Gulf Oil in Boston and upstate New York before returning to Pittsburgh, where he spent the balance of his career as an executive recruiter. He enjoyed writing and was an avid golfer and hunter. Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Stephanie; children William and Erin; siblings Roger and Sally; granddaughters Caroline, Kate, and Emma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
