Grayson Saunier ’27

How is the team looking for the season ahead? 
The team is looking really good. A lot of guys are returning, and younger guys are stepping into bigger roles. The energy of the spring was great, and we’re ready to keep working hard and get after it in the fall.

As the Floren weightroom is being renovated, you guys are lifting in Leverone Field House. 
How has that been? We were expecting it to kind of take us out of our mojo, but it has been a cool adjustment. It’s more open, you have more space to do things, and it’s easy to transfer on and off the field—we can lift and then go right outside.

How did the spring game go? 
A lot of younger guys were really stepping up and feeling more comfortable. It’s been great to see guys who usually haven’t gotten that many reps are balling out. I’m excited to see everybody take a step further and get better this year.

Your younger brother just committed to Dartmouth, also as a quarterback, in the class of 2031. Even if you won’t play together, what is that like? 
It’s super cool to be excited for somebody to experience what you have. I talk about this place all the time, but, being from down South, my family doesn’t really understand it. I don’t think anyone really does understand it unless you go here. There are so many cool things about this place, and he’ll have the opportunity to go through the same things and feel the same way that I did.

What are you doing this summer? 
I’m taking four classes and training all summer. I came off an ankle surgery earlier in the year, so this summer is huge. I’m feeling a lot better, already running again, so I’m just getting back in shape.

Anyone you’re particularly excited to throw to this season? 
I would say everybody. Every receiver coming back is going to be huge. The tight ends and running backs this year are going to be involved in the pass game.
