Louis Rocco Malizia ’52

Louis Rocco Malizia ’52 of Berlin, Connecticut, passed away on October 3, 2021, in hospice care at Apple Rehab in Cromwell, Connecticut. Louis was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on July 21, 1930. He graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford before entering Dartmouth. Louis left Dartmouth before graduating to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, he embarked on a masonry career with his father and brother while earning an associate’s degree from the University of Hartford. Louis quickly became a sought-after masonry estimator and member of the Society of Professional Estimators and leaves many good friends in his long and extensive career. Louis served on the Berlin Building Commission and was cofounder and secretary of the Berlin Midget Football League since its inception. He and Joan Guerin were married in Connecticut in October of 1955. She survives him, as does daughter Lu-Ann and grandson Scott. Louis’ son, Todd, predeceased him.
