Kenneth Richard Nack ’59

Kenneth Richard Nack ’59 passed away on August 13, 2009, in Seminole, Florida. Ken entered Dartmouth from Brooklyn (New York) Technical High School, where he earned high honors. At Dartmouth he was a brother of Delta Kappa Epsilon. He attended the Tuck School of Business in his senior year, eventually earning his M.B.A. from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. From 1959 classmates Pete Anderson and Roger Miller, who talked with Ken a few weeks before he died, we know that Ken was a terrific student, earning Phi Beta Kappa his junior year. It was said that professor Harry Shaw had never given an “A” in his economics course, until Ken earned one. According to Roger Miller, Ken got an “A” in every graduate course but one. He went to work for the National Broadcasting Co. in New York, joining Home Insurance in the early 1980s. Ken was involved with computers at a high management level. He took early retirement around 1992 to take care of his mother in Florida. Ken was married for about 10 years and then divorced. He had no children. While retired in Florida Ken’s biggest passion was his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Ken’s sister lived in Norway and died about a year after Ken passed.
