John Percival Meyer ’55
John Percival Meyer ’55 died on November 11, 2014. He was described by son Will as “the best man I ever knew.” John came to Dartmouth from Westfield (Massachusetts) High School. He majored in economics, joined Phi Kappa Psi, Glee Club and The Dart. A member of Air Force ROTC, after graduation he was stationed in England, where he married his wife, a recent Holyoke graduate. Upon returning to the states John entered Wharton Business School. He joined the corporate world, working chiefly in the paper-processing industry. John helped found and became president of Hamilton Hybar, a company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. He is predeceased by his wife, Margaret Mary, and daughter Mary Elizabeth. Survivors are two sons, two daughters and 14 grandchildren.
