John H. Krumpe ’55

John H. Krumpe ’55—a top sports administrator in the United States—died March 22 in Callawassie Island, South Carolina. Jack came to Dartmouth from Curtis High School in Staten Island, New York. He majored in history, played football and rugby, and was president of Delta Kappa Epsilon. As CEO of the New Jersey Sports Exhibition Authority, Jack oversaw the development of the Meadowlands Sports Complex, home of the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Meadowlands Racetrack. He also served as president of the New York Racing Association, the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and the Javits Center.
