James H. Cavanaugh ’55

James H. Cavanaugh ’55 passed away December 17, 2017. Jim came to Dartmouth from Northampton High School in Massachusetts. He majored in history and was a member of the Dartmouth Christian Union and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Jim started his career with General Electric, and then found his calling in the ministry. He graduated from the Chicago Theological Seminary and began 40 years as a minister for the United Church of Christ. He returned to Hanover in 1965 and served eight years as associate pastor of the Congregational Church. Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia, and children Amy, Beth, Daniel and Timothy.
