A. James “Jim” Kreider Jr. ’52

A. James “Jim” Kreider Jr. ’52 passed away on May 9, 2015, in the Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Veterans Administration Medical Center Hospice. He was the husband of Elma Jean Swope Kreider, who survives him and to whom he was married 34 years. Jim was born on August 12, 1930, grew up in Annville, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Annville High School in 1948. He was a 1952 graduate of Dartmouth and a 1953 graduate of the Tuck School of Business. At Dartmouth he was a member of Phi Delta Theta and served a term as president of his local Dartmouth club, 1964-65. Following college Jim served a term in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before joining the Lebanon Packaging Co., where he later became vice president of sales and operations. Jim lived his entire adult life in the Lebanon-Annville area of western Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Annville United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and enjoyed travel after retirement. Children A. James III, Linda, Dawn and Sallie and their families, including eight grandchildren, and siblings Andrew III and Judith survive him. He was predeceased by son Philip and brother P. Laurence ’53.
