Jack Parker Cowlishaw Jr. ’74

Jack Parker Cowlishaw Jr. ’74 of Bozeman, Montana, died peacefully with his family by his side on October 30, 2020, following a long illness. Jack came to Dartmouth from Bozeman, where he had earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was an accomplished athlete and student leader. At Dartmouth Jack played baseball and freshman football, was a member of Beta Theta Pi, and earned an A.B. with a major in economics. After college Jack returned to Montana, where he married Deborah Vincent in 1979. Jack joined AT&T, working first in Billings, Montana, and then in Denver before moving to Chatham, New Jersey, where the Cowlishaws lived happily for nearly 30 years. Jack’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to leave AT&T and to found Atlantic Telecom, a telecommunications equipment company. Running a successful business and bringing up four children with Deborah left little time to spare, but Jack was a devoted family man who cherished family dinners, commitment to his church, and family vacations to Montana to fish, enjoy the great outdoors, and spend time on Lake Whitefish, on the Gallatin River at Big Sky, and at the family cabin at Swan Creek. Jack is survived by Deborah; son Vincent and his wife, Alison; daughter Leigh and her husband, Nick; daughter Megan and her husband, Nick; daughter Jessica and her husband, Joshua; seven grandchildren; and sisters Sharon, Judy, and Tina.
