Men and vimmen of Dartmouth! It is with great pleasure that I address you for the first time as your new class secretary. I am honored to represent you and eager to catch up with old friends and new.

It has been a quiet summer here in northern Virginia—earthquakes, hurricanes, and that’s not even counting what happened in Congress.

Once again down to the wire, waiting to see if anyone will send me some news! But I must get this done before my power goes out. I’m awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Irene and hoping my basement doesn’t flood.

Greetings! As you’re reading this, our 35th reunion is retreating in time but not fading from our memories. Thanks to all involved in preparing and pulling it off successfully.

Time is flying by. It’s fall again and Nanc, Cody and I just finished hiking the DOC trail leading to the skiway. Though the leaves are not yet at peak, the air is cool and dry and the colors are just emerging.

I’m writing this the day after Hurricane Irene hit Virginia, other mid-Atlantic states and the Northeast. Fortunately for central Virginia, Irene was somewhat less severe than Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
