Earl Fain III ’55

Earl Fain III ’55 died April 29 in Dallas. A native of Dallas, Earl came to Dartmouth from Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. He majored in geology and was a member of Alpha Delta Phi. After two years in the Army in Germany, Earl returned to Dallas and earned an M.S. in geology from Southern Methodist University. He became a stockbroker and received training as an oil industry analyst on Wall Street. Earl retired in 1992 and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where his wife, Kelly, predeceased him. In his last years, Earl moved back to Dallas and became an active supporter of the Uganda Christian University, helping Uganda students to develop business skills. Earl is survived by brother Jim, daughter Virginia, son Baron, and grandson Taliaferro.
