Dudley M. Page ’51

Dudley M. Page ’51, M.D., died on July 18, 2011, in Kalispell, Montana. Montana had been his home and his great joy since service at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls in the 1950s. He practiced medicine as an anesthesiologist in Kalispell for 30 years, then retired to Polson in the Flathead Valley, which he called “paradise on earth.” Retirement for Dud included a rich and varied menu of woodworking, rock garden-building, skiing, gardening and grape-growing. He was a pioneer and sought-after source of advice concerning winemaking in the area. He was passionate about conservation, especially protection of forestlands. Other loves included the arts; he served on the boards of the Great Falls Symphony and the Glacier Symphony and was active in support of the Big Fork Playhouse Children’s Theatre. Dud grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, attended the Hawken School and came to Dartmouth from Phillips Andover Academy. At Dartmouth he was a member of Green Key and was active in the Outing Club and the Dartmouth Players. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University. He is survived by his wife, Ann, three children and three grandchildren. His late father was Dudley W. Page ’20.
