Stephen Gregory Kovach ’79 died on December 4, 2018, at his home in Fort Pierce, Florida. Steve was raised and attended high school in Ashland, Kentucky.
Joseph Charles Asch ’79 died on October 9, 2018. Joe grew up in Montreal, Canada, and studied history and French at Dartmouth, where he was a ski instructor, a DJ at WDCR, and a French and Italian drill instructor.
Daniel Lisle Hall ’79 died on July 17. Dave, who was born on June 2, 1957, in Montebello, California, lived in Florida, Philippines, and New Jersey before settling in North Conway, New Hampshire, prior to entering fourth grade.
Proctor Page Reid’79 died unexpectedly of a heart attack on June 28. Born on June 20, 1956, Proctor grew up in Randolph, Vermont. While at Dartmouth he majored in German, joined Psi Upsilon, and was a member of the ski team.
Michael Elston Startt ’79 died of a heart attack on November 17, 2017. More than a dozen of his Theta Delta Chi brothers honored their brother by attending his funeral in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.
Rachel Krevans ’79 died peacefully on July 19, surrounded by her family. Rachel majored in classics and was well known for embracing the outdoors, including activities such as the Dartmouth Outing Club and Cabin & Trail.
Carrie Ann Garfink Dixon ’79 died on October 19, 2016, after an extended battle with breast cancer. She was born on August 13, 1957, and attended Thomas S. Wootton High School in Potomac, Maryland.
Karen Elizabeth Knudson Nossiter ’79 died on August 18, 2016, in Oakland, California, after a long illness. Karen was born on May 15, 1957, and attended Scarsdale (New York) High School. At Dartmouth Karen majored in government.
Charles Spurgeon Rowe Jr. ’79 died on August 24, 2016. Known for his affable and altruistic nature, Charlie was a beloved husband, father and classmate. Charlie was born on December 27, 1956, and graduated from St.
Michael S. Kelley ’79 died from a heart attack on December 5, 2015, in Manila, Philippines. Mike was born on January 21, 1957, and grew up in Westwood, Massachusetts, where he captained the football and track teams.
Peter B. Lena ’79 died after a brief illness on June 27, 2015. Born on April 12, 1957, Peter grew up in Plainfield, Connecticut, and attended St. Bernard High School.
