Paul Albrecht ’79 died on July 2. He battled Parkinson’s for 12 years before succumbing to Covid. Paul and his family were longtime residents of Bedford, Massachusetts, and recently moved down the coast to Plymouth. He was 66.
Richard Anthony Pender ’79 passed away unexpectedly on July 18 from a pulmonary embolism. He was 65. Rich was born on July 26, 1957, in Mineola, New York, and graduated from Garden City High School.
Frederick Kingsley Sharpless ’79 died on August 13 after a fight with pancreatic cancer. He was 65. Born on December 7, 1957, Rick grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and attended Conestoga High School.
Kellen Grinnell Haak ’79 passed away on January 13 after living 10 years with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Kellen was born on March 18, 1957, and grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut.
Dale Pennell “Penny” Breed ’79 died on July 7 from early-onset Alzheimer’s. Penny was born on March 4, 1957, and graduated from Hanover High School in 1975.
Karen Brownsberger Gordon ’79 died on June 29 after two years with cancer. Karen was born on August 4, 1957, in San Francisco, and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1965. She graduated from East High School in Anchorage in 1975.
Douglas Arthur Canning ’79 died on May 30 after suffering severe injuries from a bicycle accident. Doug was born on April 27, 1957, and attended Robert Fitch High School in Groton, Connecticut.
Joseph Harrison “Hank” Young ’79 died on October 6, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from cancer. He was born in Baltimore on April 18, 1957, and graduated in 1975 from the Gilman School.
