Carl A. Boe ’65 passed away in Scarborough, New York, on September 1, 2024, of complications from a stroke. He came to Dartmouth from Deep River, Connecticut; Carl’s parents had immigrated from Germany in the 1930s.

G. Eric Knox ’65 died on October 9, 2024, in Cornucopia, Wisconsin, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He came to Dartmouth from Minneapolis; a sociology major, he was treasurer of Beta Theta Pi and played hockey.

Frederick D. Smith ’65 passed away on July 19, 2024, in Norwalk, Connecticut. Fred came to Dartmouth from Philadelphia via Germantown Friends School; a 3-2 Tuck School graduate, he was an economics major and member of Bones Gate.

Mark Birger Benson ’65 died on July 13 in Burlington, Vermont. “Birge” came to Dartmouth from Hanover. An anthropology major, he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and active in the Outing Club, Cabin & Trail, and Army ROTC.
