William H. Wooley ’63 died on November 5, 2023, at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey, and was a lifelong resident of the Jersey shore.
Jonathan Bates ’63 died November 5, 2022. He came to Dartmouth from New York City, where he attended High School of Music and Art and was active in student government, yearbook, and debating.
David H. Bowman ’63 died on August 22, 2023, at his home in Sewanee, Tennessee. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Messick High School, where he was active in track and debating.
Roger W. Griffin ’63 died on October 10, 2023, of progressive supranuclear palsy. He was born in Niskayuna, New York, where he lived most of his life. He was active in the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout.
George R. “Bob” Shanno ’63 died on September 1, 2023, in Drums, Pennsylvania after a brief illness. Bob was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and attended Hazleton High School, where he participated in the glee club and dramatics.
William F. Weber III ’63 died of progressive supranuclear palsy in Chevy Chase, Maryland, on September 26, 2023. He was a fourth-generation Washingtonian and resided in D.C.
Stephan R. Swirsky ’63 died on August 7 of rapid-onset systemic infection. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and attended James Hillhouse High School. Steve was a star athlete in basketball and baseball from early childhood.
