Brendan V. McAdams Jr. ’58, M.D., passed away at his home in San Luis Obispo, California, on January 18 as a result of a melanoma that had progressed to his lungs.
Charles G. Nessler Jr. ’58, Th’59, passed away June 27, 2023, after living his entire life in Chester, Connecticut. Charlie was in the Dartmouth-Thayer five-year program and graduated with an A.B. and M.S. in mechanical engineering.
Louis J. Bloomfield ’58, Tu’59, Th’59, died June 2. Lou grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and lived nearly his whole life in the Cleveland suburbs. Lou was in the Tuck-Thayer five-year program and was a member of Pi Lambda Phi.
Bruce M. Barber ’58 passed away on March 22. Bruce was from the Chicago area and came to Dartmouth from Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and completed M.B.A.
Peter W. Crane ’58, a career pilot for the U.S. Navy and Northwest Airlines, died on March 28 in Arizona. At Dartmouth Pete majored in geography and was active in Sigma Chi, Dartmouth Outing Club, and Navy ROTC.
Calvin R. Dyer ’58, Ph.D., died February 9 in Tennessee. Cal grew up in Westbrook, Maine. At Dartmouth he majored in economics and was a brother at Gamma Delt. He served as a Marine officer and earned a master’s and a Ph.D.
Philip K. Livingston ’58—adventurer, Marine, and lifelong aviator “forever lured by the excitement of the unknown”—died March 20 in Alaska. Phil grew up in Pittsburgh and played lacrosse all four years at Dartmouth.
