Byron S. Krantz ’57 died on July 1. Byron graduated from Cleveland Heights (Ohio) High School. At Dartmouth he majored in biology and was in Gamma Delta Chi and went on to earn his law degree from Western Reserve Law School.

Gene R. Matusow ’57 died unexpectedly on June 4. Gene graduated from White Plains (New York) High School. He majored in economics-pre-med, was in Tau Epsilon Phi, the Dartmouth Outing Club and the Glee Club. He earned his M.D.

Barry H. Tischler ’57 passed away on July 15. “Tish” graduated from Barnard School. At Dartmouth he was premed, majoring in zoology, was in Gamma Delta Chi, played basketball for three years, and was in the DOC all four years.

David E. Duffy ’57 died peacefully on May 26 in North Fort Myers, Florida, where he resided for the past 32 years. David graduated from Lynn (Massachusetts) Classical High School and then Dartmouth with a degree in economics.

James R. Samartini ’57 passed away peacefully at his home on May 15. Jim came to Dartmouth from Shaker Heights (Ohio) High School. His major was zoology and he was a member of Phi Tau (rush chairman) and Newman Club.

F. Scott Corey ’57 died of heart failure on March 3. Scott graduated from Towson (Maryland) High School. At Dartmouth he majored in economics, was in Sigma Chi, served on the Interdormitory Committee, and was in Navy ROTC.

Joseph D. Kyle ’57 died February 25 in hospice care. Joe graduated from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati. At Dartmouth he majored in English and was a member of Sigma Nu. He enlisted in the U.S.
