Class Note 2008

Issue

November-December 2026

Class Note 2008. Emily Winkler published Pocket Bayeux Tapestry through Bodleian Library Publishing in September, timed to coincide with the Bayeux Tapestry’s historic loan to the British Museum—the first time in nearly 1,000 years that the tapestry has returned to England. The pocket-sized guide offers an accessible and engaging way to explore the medieval masterpiece, which depicts the story of the Norman conquest of 1066. Emily teaches medieval history at the University of Oxford.
Henry Danaher has served as Dartmouth college organist since 2023, a role in which he cares for three pipe organs on campus, including the historic instrument at Rollins Chapel—one of the largest organs in New Hampshire. In addition to his campus duties, Henry serves as music director at the Church of Christ in Hanover and provides accompaniment for the Glee Club and Handel Society. In August, he gave a demonstration of the College’s 3,937-pipe organ, performing works ranging from the Baroque to the modern era. Classmates who find themselves back in Hanover are encouraged to catch one of his performances.
Thad Olchowski is organizing a ski outing for the Dartmouth Club of Western Massachusetts at Berkshire East, tentatively planned for late February or March. Reach out directly if you’re interested in some family-friendly, small-mountain skiing.
As always, we’d love to hear from more of you—send along your news and updates for a future issue!
