Class Note 1989
Issue
November-December 2026
Class Note 1989. Greetings, classmates. Let’s give a rouse for classmates with exciting career moves.
In September, award-winning novelist Katherine Sherbrooke released her new novel, This Much Is True (Sibylline Press), about a mother confronted with hidden trauma from her high school past. Check it out: www.kasherbrooke.com/this-much-is-true.
Debra Roberson and her spouse were awarded an artist residency in Champagne-Ardenne at the prestigious Chateau d’Orquevaux located in the countryside of northeastern France. Reach out to her to share tips on fundraising or pay her a visit on your next vacation. Lenora Brown was recently named the executive director of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase appreciation of jazz through performance and educational outreach. Venturing to Ohio? Concert tickets are available.
Debi Wilgoren was named the new national editor of The Washington Post. She shares, “I was 22 when I started working at The Washington Post. I have written thousands of stories and brought thousands more to life as an editor. For most of that time, I never even thought about running one of the sections that make up this great newsroom. It was always about landing the story, making sure it was important, compelling, and right. And that is still what it’s about, despite all the noise and distraction. I am thrilled to lead The Post’s national desk, honor the legacy of all my former colleagues, and work with my bosses, colleagues, and wonderful team to keep telling what needs to be told. Let’s go.”
Congratulations to all!
We’d love to hear from you. Share your news, travels, discoveries. Soon we will be sexagenarians! Are you making any life changes or resolutions to welcome the new decade? How about an ’89 challenge? There may be a few brave souls who’ll take you on. Drop me a line.
