Class Note 1970

Issue

November-December 2026

Class Note 1970. I spun the wheel to letter P and chose Parkhurst, Panas, Payne, Pansegrau, Perry. and Paul.Imagine if they founded an injury law firm together.
Parkhurst brings to mind the memorable takeover of the hall on campus. John Parkhurst had a career in academia, spent a year in Rome studying Italian and teaching courses in Anglo American poetry and creative writing. He lived in a monastery built on the ruins of the Baths of Trajan, which date back to the fourth century. Back home in the United States, he became a member of the Mount Washington Observatory.
John Panas lives in Athens, Greece, and was in the food processing and distribution business.
Jack Pansegrau got his M.B.A. at Tuck. He moved to West Hartford, Connecticut, and was promoted to investment officer in charge of joint ventures nationally at Connecticut Mutual Life. That led to a 1983 move to the Boston firm of Paine Webber properties. By 1995 Jack was still with Paine Webber but working from Orinda, California.
After getting an M.A. and M.B.A. at Stanford, W. Scott Perry was living in Kingston-Upon-Thames, England. From graduation until 1995, he lived in five countries (United States, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, England, and Chile). His wife, Christine Fox, is from Uruguay, as is Scott. These days they live most of the time in London with summers in Spain. Their two daughters spend most of their time with the horses.
We have two Paynes: Pierre and Robert, each of whom pursued finance careers, Pierre with Allen Bradley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Robert, with William Blair in Chicago.
And I couldn’t help but notice Peter Paul. I suspect he’s often asked, “Where’s Mary?” It seems he practiced corporate and international law in Florida while they were “hammering in the morning all over this world.”
What’s the furthest you’ve roamed? A South Pacific island such as Fiji, Australia, South Africa? Let us know so an e-newsletter can showcase photos of your trips.
