Issue

September-October 2026

Class Note 2019. Hello, ’19s! Thank you for all of your submissions! I was struck by how my threats to write this entire column on my thoughts on the architecture of the housing system immediately inspired a plethora of classmate updates in my DMs. Appreciate you all and, as a reminder, if you’re not following @2019.dartmouth on Instagram, you’re missing out.
Kierra Sweeney shared that Nick Caron and Cat McManus got married in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in June. I hope it was a wonderful celebration!
Katie Disher started her residency at New York University/Bellevue Hospital in July, following a post-medical-school trip heliskiing in Alaska. Diana Uhrig graduated from medical school and is starting her anesthesiology residency at UMass. Congrats to our newest doctor classmates and wishing you both well on your residencies.
Connor O’Leary congratulated Jules Wheaton on her graduation from Tuck this spring. Connor writes, “Sophie Smith ’20, Maggie Stiefvater, Frankie Sands, and I joined her for grad weekend to celebrate. We’re excited to welcome her to N.Y.C. postgrad.” Monik Waters reported that Jolene Bernagène graduated with her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Ellen Pattinson contributed that Sally Sandoval graduated from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business; Sally added that she’ll be moving to Los Angeles this summer. Leanna Arjune graduated from law school and passed the New York bar exam. Best of luck to all of the graduates!
In Switzerland, Priya Sankar graduated from the University of St. Gallen with a master’s in banking and finance. Willow Pagan is also in Switzerland, getting a master’s at EHL Hospitality Business School.
Ben Szuhaj shared that he coauthored a book titled Wayfinding: A Business Fable About Leading in the Age of AI. He wrote, “It follows a fictional CEO named Sarah who’s given 90 days to deliver an artificial intelligence strategy. Along the way she learns the things my coauthor and I think business leaders need to know right now: for instance, how to build an AI strategy that’s a genuine competitive advantage, why humility and vulnerability matter so much to real learning, and how much good comes from creating psychological safety for a team.”
Nelly Mendoza-Mendoza is hosting a jewelry show and lecturing at Dartmouth on October 23. She says there will be lots of green! Nelly, please be sure to share pictures of your work with the class!
See you all next edition—and keep me posted on all your updates.
