Class Note 2012

Issue

September-October 2026

Class Note 2012. Hi, ’12s! There’s something about the first crisp morning of fall that makes me want to swap iced coffee for a steaming cuppa, trade in my flip-flops for boots, and pretend I enjoy pumpkin-flavored everything (sorry to my pumpkin spice latte warriors). As the leaves begin their annual costume change and Halloween decorations start creeping onto front porches, it feels like the perfect season to celebrate classmates who are embracing bold new adventures of their own.
Give a rouse for Sarah Jewett, who has helped steer one of the year’s biggest climate-tech success stories. Sarah serves as senior vice president of strategy at Fervo Energy, the geothermal startup that made headlines with its blockbuster Nasdaq debut, reaching a valuation of more than $10 billion. The company is pioneering next-generation geothermal technology to provide reliable, carbon-free energy for our increasingly electrified world, including the growing demands of artificial intelligence infrastructure. Those long nights working tirelessly in Thayer have certainly paid off. Way to go, Sarah!
If spooky season is more your speed, keep an eye out for one of our own on your screens. Alyson Pickett shared that she served as the lead stunt double for Academy Award nominee Renate Reinsve in A24’s Backrooms, the feature-film adaptation of the viral YouTube horror phenomenon. The film also stars Academy Award winner Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Alyson helped bring the movie’s unsettling world to life behind the scenes. Be sure to catch Backrooms on streaming platforms this fall—preferably with the lights on.
Finally, Anna-Kay Thomas and her husband, Ross Szabo, recently welcomed Vogue into their Palm Beach, Florida, wedding celebration. The article in the magazine’s May issue highlighted the couple’s thoughtful approach to celebrating what mattered most, from an oceanfront ceremony focused on meaningful, personal details to Anna-Kay’s unforgettable floral-appliqué Monique Lhuillier gown, which let her become the flower rather than filling the venue with elaborate arrangements. Congratulations to the happy couple!

We’d love to feature your achievements, milestones, family moments, unofficial class reunions, and more. Until next time, happy fall—and don’t eat all the Halloween candy at once!
