Class Note 2007. Lillian King shared some exciting news about her continued involvement on campus, as she prepares to lead the Vox Theater residency at Dartmouth this summer with executive director Matthew Cohn ’08! For the past 13 years Vox Theater has created space for alumni working in the arts to experiment to immerse students in the process of creating new work, with the goal of building community for alumni in the arts. Lillian began directing as an undergrad at Dartmouth and has continued to work in the Upper Valley and New York for many years, including as assistant director on two Broadway shows. In 2015 she moved to Toronto and has continued directing and teaching theater while raising her three daughters. In past seasons of Vox, Lillian has directed several projects, including one on Zoom in the 2020 season. She is thrilled to be joining the team as artistic director and is looking forward to all the ways Vox will continue to grow in the future. Pete Cooch writes from a belated honeymoon on the beaches of Costa Rica, where he and his wife, Jess, are enjoying surfing and some yoga and finally finishing a book. Pete moved from the Northeast to San Francisco for pediatric residency in 2014 and put down roots—he now lives in Oakland with Jess and their dog and works at Kaiser as a pediatric infectious diseases specialist and member of the pediatric residency faculty. He has stayed connected to campus through Dartmouth Alumni for Palestine and the occasional op-ed in TheDartmouth and is lucky to cross paths with fellow ’07s in the Bay Area—Chris Cahill, Natalie Kim, Annie Daher, and Ayesha Appa—from time to time.
Speaking of Ayesha, she wrote in with a Class Note after I checked in with her about her new job. After starting her career in addiction medicine and infectious disease at University of California, San Francisco, Ayesha decided in January to switch gears and join Bouldercare, a telehealth provider for addiction medicine services. Her landing there was partially through a Dartmouth connection, as she was referred by Rose (McClendon) Bromka ’06, who helps lead Bouldercare out of Portland, Oregon. When not contributing to the growing team at Bouldercare, Ayesha is leading a medical Instagram operation out of @ayeshaappamd and raising a gorgeous family with husband Dan and kids Uma and Bodhi out of Marin County, California.
Christina (Luccio) Sargent wrote in with exciting news from her family and plenty of class connections. She writes, “Almost two years ago my family relocated from Chicago to Boston’s South Shore (where I grew up) to be closer to family. We love being in New England and hope to start making trips to Hanover, perhaps even with neighbor Abby (Donahue) Mariano ’06 and her family. This April we welcomed a baby boy, Sarno Larson Sargent. He’s named after my grandfather, who lived to be 104, and big sisters Selena and Luciana, ages 7.5 and 5, have been a huge help. Severina Ostrovsky visited this summer for some fun on the Cape. Baby Sarno also hopes to meet his Dartmouth ‘aunties’ Erika Ruberry, Lauren Hassouni, Laura (Flannery) Masters, Sahiba (Sarna) Krieger, Kat Davison,and Jordan (Kutcher) Grant in the near future.”
