Class Note 2002. Greetings, ’02s! The silence in my inbox this month can only mean one thing: You are all resting up and saving your energy for our 25th reunion next June 18-20! Because classmate news is light, I am focusing this update entirely on the road to Hanover.
Our fearless reunion co-chairs, Julia Pinover and Lonnie Threatte, are officially putting out the call for volunteers. Congratulations are also in order for Julia, who was elected this past spring as our class representative to the Alumni Council for a three-year term starting July 1! As Julia reminds us, there are many events at the reunion that are run by our class, not the College, and it truly takes a village. Julia and Lonnie are looking for classmates to step up and lend their unique expertise to the planning committee. Specifically, they are looking for folks with comfort in tech, to help build a website or app making it a breeze to navigate the weekend; communications and marketing (particularly someone social media savvy!), to help spread the word and get people back to the Green; outdoor events, to organize hikes, paddles, or mountain excursions; and entertainment, to help curate the vibe, music, and weekend programming.
It is a fantastic, low-pressure way to reconnect with old friends and make new ones before we even arrive on campus. Julia shared, “I’m excited to hear about what winding roads life has taken folks, meet kids and have my son meet others’ kids, and enjoy some time in the mountains with old friends.”
