Class Note 1998

Issue

September-October 2026

Class Note 1998. Dear, ’98s!
I was delighted to receive updates from a couple of classmates this spring. Joan Ai wrote in to share that “Doug Heyman and I have just completed a whirlwind 13-year run at Collegiate School, where our boys Sandy and Ethan have been classmates since Day 1 of kindergarten. Doug, a proud Collegiate alumnus from the class of ’94, now gets a full-circle moment as Sandy heads off to the College this fall, having followed in his father’s footsteps at Collegiate and now continuing a family tradition at Dartmouth that includes his mom, Eva Heyman ’96, grandfather Adam Heyman ’63, and several other family members.” Congrats, Joan and Doug, for launching your kids into life’s next chapter. Oh, the places they’ll go!
For those in our class who have younger children, Kara Shane (Relyea) Colley has a new book titled My Hundred Friends, which is an illustrated hardcover book for anyone learning about factors, multiples, and primes. Kara wrote in to say the book “is in publication with Natural Math [and] will be published under a creative commons license so that people all over the world will be able to access its content, translate it into different languages, and share their ideas based on the book.” Kara, I love the global-access aspect of your distribution strategy. Congrats! Kara is currently in a crowdfunding campaign so let us reach out to her to support this cool project.
Keep the updates coming. Have a great summer.
One love.
