Issue

July-August 2026

Class Note 2013. After completing his Ph.D. at University of Texas Austin and celebrating publication in the prestigious philosophy journal Mind, Alex Rausch is moving to Oslo, Norway, for a two-year postdoc in philosophy with newlywed wife Serena, Pyrenees dog Beyla, and cat Mousie.
Racquel Bernard recently passed her dissertation defense and is now a doctor of musicology. She’ll also be the graduate student speaker for her commencement from UCLA with her Ph.D. in June.
After 13 years (what a great number), Matt Reynolds and Chrissy Bettencourt are engaged! “We met teaching snowboarding at the Skiway during winter term in 2010, have been together since fall 2012, moved across the country to San Francisco in 2014, then up to Portland, Oregon, in 2018, and now we’re finally getting married,” writes Chrissy. Congratulations, you two!
Murmuration Theatre Company and Thalia Sablon are producing Laura Neill’s play, The Moon Rituals, at the Tank in N.Y.C. August 24 to September 4. The play will be codirected by Sablon and Kelleen Moriarty ’19. Laura describes it as “a cathartic horror comedy about friends who try to heal their pelvic pain with amateur magic and accidentally summon a demon. So many people live with uterine and pelvic illnesses, endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, chronic pain, and still feel completely alone in it. This play is a refusal of that isolation.” If anyone is interested in partnering on this project or contributing resources to the play’s free audience guide on pelvic health, please reach out to Laura at laura.j.neill@gmail.com.
Sara Stone wrote in to say: “My big news is that I just got engaged last week to another professional sailor! I am still racing Grand Prix sailboats all around the world and am sending this update from the airport after finishing a regatta in Sardinia, Italy, and on my way to another competition in St. Maxime, France.”
Pat Healy is finishing up his Ed.D. in instructional systems technology at Indiana University, where he studied the application of digital and AI technologies to enhance learning experiences with a focus on professional coaching. “I also founded my own business in 2023,” says Pat, “and recently expanded it to include professional coaching. Any Big Green friends who need an educational, career, or leadership coach, let me know!”
Cheers to everyone and your marvelous accomplishments.
