Class Note 2011

Class Note 2011. Henry Yan wrote in March when he saw that our Class Notes would benefit from more classmate updates! On to Henry’s update: “I moved to Nashville recently for my new job at a healthcare private equity firm and have reconnected with Malina Springer (née Summers), Lauren Dowling, and Michael Joseph ’12. We hang out fairly regularly here in town, and the Dartmouth local chapter is growing steadily, especially given all the folks moving from New York, Chicago, and California. I did a stint out in Asia (Shanghai) during the Covid years but was otherwise in New York.”
As for me, I am typing this from a third-floor “resort” balcony in Central California, just steps away from the Pacific Ocean. Kuro and Goma, our minipoodle mixes, are curled up at my feet while Thomas Lane tackles a Game of Thrones tome. We’ve somehow lucked into a complimentary ocean view—a much-needed reprieve from the chaotic dystopia of working in immigration law.
Seeing Henry’s name pop up reminded me that while we might be physically far from the Green (“’Round the girdled earth they roam”), the community remains tight (“Her spell on them remains”)—even if it takes 15 years to send that first “Hello again.” If you’ve also moved across the country, switched industries, adopted a fur baby, or are defending your sprouting flowers from bunnies and squirrels (where are the coyotes when you need them? I’m kidding, I’m kidding), my inbox is open.
