Class Note 1998

Issue

July-August 2026

Class Note 1998. Dear, ’98s, looking for a good read? Unai Montes-Irueste wrote in recently and shared he is reading Tikia Hamilton’s new book, Nothing Less Than Equality. Unai writes that it is an exemplary work of scholarship. Unai also wrote that Nita Farahany’s next book, Cognitive Extinction: Saving Human Thought While We Still Can, is likely to be a game-changer! To borrow from Unai’s description of our talented classmates, Tikia and Nita are ’98 stars! Congratulations to you both. I look forward to reading both books.
Unai also wrote in to share the heartbreaking news regarding our beloved classmate, Michelle “Fox Woman” (Sinopakii) Marie Fox, who left this world and began her journey to the Big Sands. Michelle was an active alum in Native American Alumni at Dartmouth. She was a beautiful force of nature who was a great friend to so many in the Dartmouth community. Michelle was featured in the “Voices from the Wilderness” section of the June 2016 issue of Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, where she gave an update on the amazing life she was building with Stephen and their family, running a ranch and founding a Native American economic development corporation. This force of a woman also founded her own law firm! We will miss our brilliant and cheerful friend. Please write in to share your memories of Michelle.
One love.
