Class Note 2005. Hi, class of 2005! Updates from our class below.
Sasha (Rogers) Baker wrote in to share that she and her husband, Sam (Mizzou ’06), welcomed a new baby, Arlo Jackson, in July. Arlo joins big brother Miles (3) and completes their family. Sasha is currently leading global national security policy at OpenAI after 20 years in government, most recently as acting under secretary of defense for policy at the Pentagon. She and Sam live in Washington, D.C., where Sam is a senior editor at Politico. They welcome any alums visiting D.C. to reach out and visit!
Marta Darby is living in Truckee, California, where she is running, skiing, and mountain biking as much as possible. Marta started her own environmental law practice a few years ago, which provides her with the flexibility to enjoy the area. She began volunteering as a ski patroller at Northstar California ski resort last year.
Kate Mulley is in her fourth season working as a college admissions coach (she’s had one student end up at Dartmouth!). Kate is still writing plays and musicals, one of which has a good chance of development and production in Japan this year. She also has a Substack, where she writes creative pieces inspired by art from The Metropolitan Museum of Art and other museums.
Susie Dain-Owens is in Squamish, British Colombia, Canada, and has a baby girl, Summer (8 months), and son, Miles (4). Miles is learning to ski and read and loves cars, trucks, and trains (a lot). She and her husband, Will, are taking April off and going to Costa Rica with some friends for a few weeks.
Hillary Swanson Turtle is living in Australia with her husband and two kids, Charlie (9) and Hannah (11). Aside from escaping the recent bout of shark attacks (two of which happened at the beach that is within walking distance of her house), they are staying safe and well. Hillary joined the world of tech more than a year ago and is working as in-house counsel at an American-based tech company (Genesys). She handles all legal for the Asia-Pacific region and will be in Boston for a legal offsite meeting in early May.
Zana Bugaighis is living in Seattle, working as a partner at the legal firm of Davis Wright Tremaine. She has been traveling with her partner and daughters Lux and Roux during the last few years, including Switzerland and France in 2024, Greece in 2025, and Costa Rica this year. Additionally, they returned to the Upper Valley last August to see friends and for a Dartmouth visit!
